HARRIETSHAM & LENHAM
SCOUTS
After the summer ‘break’ the Scouts are back to their regular
meetings and exciting events.
If you are between the ages of 10 and 14 years old you will be welcome
to come along and see what a friendly and enjoyable evening it is.
We meet every Friday night at 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Scout Headquarters
at Station Road, Harrietsham.
For further information phone Steve Collins on01622 859829.
HARRIETSHAM
& LENHAM Beaver Colony
Beavers are
the youngest part of the Scouting Organisation, we welcome boys (but there
is a girl on our waiting list) from 5 to 8 years old - but there is a
waiting list as this is a popular activity.
It is a learn through play activity, not as rigidly structured as at school.
We have an hour long meeting each week, which takes place in the Harrietsham
Scout Hut (just down from the Railway Station). From 4.30 to 6.00pm on
Fridays in term time, our subs. are £l.50 per week. Each meeting
has a different theme, some of our most popular (which will be repeated)
have been: creepy crawlies; mega-water extravaganza; biscuit decorating;
cowboys and Indians; knights in shining armour; cops and robbers.
Parents are
asked to take part in a 'helper' roster, which means attending the whole
meeting about once every term. We would be very keen to have parents with
a special interest join us for an evening to share this with the children
(scuba diving, being a fireman/policeman or maybe telling a favourite
story).
I hope this
tells you a bit about us, maybe we will get to meet you and your children
in the future!
Yours in Scouting.
