Progress at Litpro
Free Taster Sessions in September
One of the problems with trying to report fast progress is that it is quickly out of date!
At the time of writing we appear to have enough grants confirmed to enable me to predict that Litpro will open its doors to the public sometime in September
We have grants from BT, Awards for All, and MidKentLEADER+.
The BT contribution is the gift of a single computer, software and free broadband access for a year. Awards for All has given us £5,000 to purchase the remaining nine workstations and Mid Kent LEADER+ has offered us support for expenditure of £60,000 over the next three years.
We are holding several meetings at the Community Centre during August for all those who have indicated their willingness to support the project with their time and expertise. During September we will be holding an Open Day and running free “taster sessions” to enable local residents to come, see, feel and become familiar with the equipment.
Details and dates of these taster sessions will be posted on the PC Notice Board in The Square and in the Centre itself.
You can see that much will have changed in our
plans by the time you read this article but until we have the equipment
installed and running we can’t put firm dates on any of our programmes.
These should follow in the next edition of Focus.
